Nancy Irene (Mosser) (née Yates) BAYNE

Nancy Irene Bayne, née Yates, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving children. Born on August 9, 1939, in Walkerton, Ontario, to Bob and Irene Yates, Nancy was proud of her roots and maintained a strong faith throughout her life. She was a dedicated scholar and academic, completing her teacher training at Stratford College and her undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario. Nancy began her career in teaching with the Oxford School Board before pursuing her passion for raising her three children. She later became a social worker with the Walkerton Community Support Services, continuing her commitment to serving others. Nancy enjoyed various hobbies, including knitting, needlepoint, gardening, and fashion, and shared her love of the outdoors with her children through countless sailing adventures. After marrying Bruce Bayne, Nancy made Orillia her home, and together they enjoyed many happy years. She is remembered by her husband Bruce, his children Kathy Parkes, Jim Bayne, and Allan Bayne, as well as her sister Janice McCarter, her three children Lisa Boehmer, Andy Mosser, and Tim Mosser, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family is grateful for the exceptional care and love Nancy received during her stay at University Gates Schlegel Village in Waterloo.
