Kay-Anne Broger, nee Anderson, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her three children. Born and raised in Orillia, she was predeceased by her parents, George Alick and Katherine, as well as her sisters, Elizabeth and Janet. Her husband, Eric, passed away in 2024, after 65 years of marriage, during which they raised their children, Kevin, Andrea, and Liise. Kay-Anne took great pride in her children and grandchildren, Alex, Logan, Darby, and Aidan. She was also a devoted aunt and great-aunt, and will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Kay-Anne began her teaching career in Orillia, later moving to Toronto, where she taught at various schools, including Earlscourt Public School and Etienne Brûlé Junior School. After obtaining her Master's in Education, she led a Special Education Diagnostic class, a role that was close to her heart. Following her retirement, Kay-Anne volunteered and travelled with her husband, serving in various roles with the RWTO and CFUW, and volunteering at The Orillia Museum.
