Ellen Mary Naughton

Ellen Mary Naughton of Orillia, Ontario, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 96. She was born on May 28, 1930. Ellen was predeceased by her parents, John and Ethel Booth of Fraserburg; her former husband Ernest Gilbert; her husband Charles Naughton; her siblings Jim (married to Shirley), Reena and Pauline; and her daughter Linda (married to David Montague). She is survived by her siblings Ralph Booth (married to Shirley) and Carol (married to Bill Quemby); her sons Allan (married to JoAnne) of St. Catharines, Garry (married to Debbie) of Orillia, and Evan (married to Sharon) of Oro Medonte; her stepchildren Gerrard Naughton, Chris Naughton (married to Cheryl), JoAnne Wares (married to David) and Lisa (married to Al McCauley); and her grandchildren Adam, Nathan, Matthew Montague (married to Sherry), Michael Gilbert (married to Stephanie Yeo), Marleigh Gilbert (married to Curt Dunlop), Matt Oelschlaeger, Ashley Naughton (married to Nick Keyes), Leo Corston (married to Angela), Darren Corston, Allan Naughton, Dan Schop, David Schop (married to Kelsey), Julie Schop (married to Joscelyn), Alycia (married to Rod), Josh (married to Lia), Ryan Potestio (married to Sara) and Leanne Potestio (married to Brian). Ellen was active in volunteering, a role she valued highly, and found the COVID‑19 pandemic especially challenging. Memorial contributions may be directed to Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, where she volunteered for many years, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
