The family of Dorothy Switzer announces her passing on September 9, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on September 2, 1931, in Orangeville, Ontario, Dorothy is fondly remembered by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John Switzer (Jack), her son John (Dianna Gordon), and her siblings, Marjorie Vardy and Robert Kennedy. Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael (Sherry Holt) and Karen Switzer (Michael Mattachione), her grandchildren, Rachel, Emily, Connor, Dylan, and Julian, and her sister Barbara Turk (Gerry). Visitation will take place on September 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on September 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Dods & McNair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on September 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with a reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Orangeville Library.
