BRYAN FREDERICK COOKE

Bryan Frederick Cooke passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 96. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 24 years, Carol Steele. He was predeceased by his cherished first wife of 40 years, Margaret (nee Gaudin). He will be deeply missed by his sons, Doug (Stella), Brad (Anne), Ken (Kelly), and stepdaughters, Linda Steele and Barb Steele. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Brett, Andrew (Lilah), Kristen (Kyle), Greg (Melissa), Emily (Jacob), and Mitchell (Mei Lin), and great-grandfather to Harper and Adeline. Bryan was born in Somerset West, South Africa to Arthur and Ethel Cooke. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 and eventually settled in Toronto. Bryan had a successful finance career in the insurance industry, eventually retiring from General Accident Insurance as Vice President. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his cottage on Drag Lake in Haliburton and winter home in Fort Myers, Florida. He also enjoyed gardening, travel, birdwatching, and the outdoors. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Neweduk - Erin Mills Chapel on Friday, June 12th, from 6 to 9 p.m. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13th, at 2 p.m., prior to a memorial service at 3 p.m., and a reception will follow at 4 p.m. For those who wish, donations in memory of Bryan may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or The Scott Mission.
