Orida Herta CUKSTS

Orida Herta Cuksts passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in her 95th year, at her home in Oakville, after struggles with Parkinson's disease. She is survived by her sons, Andris and Jan, and Bruno, and her grandson, Adrian. Orida was predeceased by her husband, Valdis. Born on August 10, 1930, in Riga, Latvia, Orida spent her childhood on a farm. She later moved to Peterborough, England, where she met her husband, Valdis, and trained as a midwife and nurse. The family then moved to Toronto, and later to North Bay, where Orida lived for over 50 years, raising her two sons and tending to her garden. A devoted member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the North Bay Horticultural Society, Orida will be remembered during a regular Sunday service on May 24, at 10:30 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, North Bay. A time of fellowship and sharing will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkinson's Canada.
