Joseph (Joe) Albert VET
Joseph (Joe) Albert Vet was born on March 18, 1929, in Ulft, the Netherlands, and died peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 96. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Emmie, loving father to Elaine (Ted Parkinson), Paul (Jill), and the late Caroline (Jim Yurchuk). Joe was a loving granddad of Eric Parkinson (Teal), Jenny (Dean Broadfoot), Cassie (Cyle Hatch), Emily (Jozef Duijvestein), Jacob Vet, Emmie Yurchuk, and Evan Yurchuk. He was also a devoted great granddad to Ella, Owen, Avery, Ross, Heidi, Caroline, Anna, Lily, Logan, and Lucas. Joe and Emmie emigrated to Canada on July 1, 1954, and started the Violet Flower Shop in Oakville in 1958. After selling the business, Joe became a successful real estate agent. In retirement, he enjoyed travelling, spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, and going for coffee with friends. Joe was a faithful member of St. Andrews's Church. He was predeceased by his wife Emmie and daughter Caroline. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Flowers are greatly encouraged and will be given to surrounding retirement homes afterwards.
