BARBARA JOAN BROWN

BARBARA JOAN BROWN (nee FOSTER) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Ian Anderson House in Oakville on May 13, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Peterborough on November 9, 1927, Joan married her late husband, Mel, in 1952. She was the loving mother of her two sons, Ron (Maria) Brown and Steve (Kathy) Brown, and cherished nana of Emily (Elliot) Gardin, David (Pauline) Brown, Lindsey Brown, and Greg Brown. She was also stepnana to Aaron (Janice) Magpayo, Ashley (Paolo) Valdez, and Austin (Anjela) Magpayo. Joan was a proud great-nana to Hannah, Maya, and Ella Brown; Maya and Mackenzie Valdez; and Addison and Alexander Magpayo. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Laura Foster; her sisters, Marjorie (Bill) Hutchison and Marion (Gerry) Ackford; and her brother, Don (Gwen) Foster. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Maureen Kerr and Roberta Brown, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Joan will be interred with Mel at Rosemount Memorial Gardens in Peterborough, Ontario.
