Anna (Annina) FLAMMINI
Anna Flammini, 95, of Oakville, Ontario, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on March 12, 2026, at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She was born in Castelbasso, Abruzzo, Italy, on December 3, 1930, to Felice and Fioralba Rocci. Anna grew up in Castelbasso, where she developed a love for cooking, and she was meticulous with everything she touched. After arriving from Italy, she worked numerous jobs and spent most of her time working in housekeeping at St. Joe's Hospital and Hamilton General Hospital. She was respected for her strong work ethic and her kindness toward others. In 1956, she married Ercole Flammini, and together they built a loving home and, in their later years, enjoyed vacationing in Cuba and visiting family in Italy. Together, they raised their only child, Pia. Anna will be remembered for her cooking, cleanliness, and loving and friendly demeanour. She also enjoyed playing cards and going out with friends. Anna is survived by her daughter Pia and her husband Alfonse Zaccaria; her grandchildren Andrea and her husband Michael Catalano and Amanda and her husband Dave Cuffaro; and great-grandchildren Avery and Kai Catalano and Leo and Giuliana Cuffaro. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late Franco Rocci and his late wife Lucia, the late Cesare Rocci and his late wife Enia, the late Amalia DeIuliis and her late husband Ermando, and the late Giuseppe Rocci. Anna was also predeceased by her siblings-in-law, the late Pasquale Flammini and his late wife Giuseppina, the late Cesare Flammini and his late wife Franca, the late Vincenzo Flammini and his wife Ida, the late Alfredo and his wife Algisa, and the late Maria Perpetuini and her late husband Giovanni. Anna will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in Canada, Italy, and Belgium. She enjoyed living at the Chartwell Waterford Retirement Residence for the last three years. She made many friends, shared many laughs, and participated in the daily activities. Thanks to the Waterford management and staff for enriching her life. Also, a special thanks to the nursing staff and Dr. Obeid for meeting her needs.
