ROBERT GORDON FERGUSON

Robert Gordon Ferguson passed away peacefully at his home in North York on July 22, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by his family. Born in Toronto to Hazel and Gordon Ferguson, he grew up in The Beaches neighbourhood and went on to graduate as a Civil Engineer from the University of Toronto in 1957. He had a distinguished 38-year career with The Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, Works Department, retiring as Commissioner of Works in 1995. Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Mary; son Geordon; daughters Catherine and Kirsten; and five grandchildren: Robert, Charlotte, Liam, Samantha, and Melissa. He is also survived by his sister Gail, brother Douglas, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Dutcher. A private family service will be held in his honour.
