Arena "Rena/Reeny" VENASSE

Rena Venasse peacefully passed away at Nipissing Serenity Hospice on April 29, 2026, at the age of 97. Born in Mattawa, Ontario, on February 6, 1929, she lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. Rena was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. Venasse, who predeceased her in 2001. She is survived by her children, Michael (Lori) of North Bay, Patti O'Neil of Duncan, British Columbia, and Gerry (Paulette) of Ottawa, along with ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who brought her great joy. Rena was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Valois, and her brother Arthur 'Bunny' Valois Jr. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Sonia Lamoureux and Teresa Simpson, as well as many extended family and friends. The family expresses gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Nipissing Serenity Hospice and her physicians for their compassionate care. In accordance with Rena's wishes, there will be no service, and cremation arrangements are entrusted to Hillside Funeral Services. She will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery beside her husband.
