Jack Vegter

Jack Vegter passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on July 4, 1935, in the Netherlands to Hendrik and Audrey Vegter, he immigrated to Canada as a teenager. Jack worked as a butcher in the United States before joining the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in a hydrographic position. He is survived by his children, Henry and Roselynn, and their spouses, Margaret and Jason; his three grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Gail Pagee, Betty Langendoen, and Tina Vahrmeyer. Jack enjoyed various hobbies, including sailing, fishing, restoring classic cars, and travelling. Following his retirement, he developed a subdivision in Niagara Falls. As per his request, cremation has taken place. The family invites you to share memories online at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca.
