Arthur "Art" Alvin RODE

Arthur "Art" Alvin Rode passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, at the age of 103, surrounded by his family in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gwen Rode, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, as well as his daughter, Dianne Rode, and son-in-law, Les Bartley. Art is survived by his children, David Rode (Sherron) and Gloria Bartley (née Rode), and was a proud grandfather to Matt Bartley (Stephanie), Laura McGee (Jeff), Holly Rode (Tim), and Katie Mundell (Brent). He cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Preston, Harleigh, Kinsley, and Henry, and was predeceased by his great-grandson, Keenan Bartley. Born on July 8, 1923, in Jansen, Saskatchewan, Art was part of a large family and is survived by his sister, Lydia. He served in the Second World War, where he met Gwen in London, England. Art enjoyed life on the family farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake and later resided at Bella Senior Care Residence, where he formed lasting friendships. His family is grateful for the care he received there.
