Amalia Emilie Plata

Amalia Emilie Plata of Niagara Falls, Ontario, passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on July 7, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of Thomas Kobik and Elizabeth Kobik (Zamarlik), both of whom predeceased her, along with her husband Stanley and son-in-law Robert 'Bob' Muir. Amalia is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Kenneth (Mary), Sandra (late Robert Muir), and Lorelei; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessie), Greg (Lauren), Leeanne (Curtis), and Johnathon; and her great-grandchildren, Sloan, Ronin, Charlie, and Dylan. She is also remembered by her nephews, Denis and Brian, and her niece Valerie. Visitation will take place on September 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church, followed by a committal service at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, Food Bank, or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
