Domenico (Don) FRENA

Domenico (Don) Frena passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 95. He is survived by his children, Maria Rosenkranz and Michael (Tracey) Frena, and his grandchildren, Eric (Megan), Nicole (Jay), Kara (Michal), Alex Rosenkranz, and Michael, Rachel, and Josh Frena. He was also a beloved Bis-Nonno to Emmett and Rowan Rosenkranz, and Lilah and Lainey Grochowiecki. Don is survived by his sister, Albina (Bernhard) Rusch in Germany, and sister-in-law, Severina (Cortina). He was predeceased by his son, Frankie, brother, Giovanni (Cortina), sister, Lucia, and brother-in-law, Gino (Alleghe). Born on January 28, 1931, in Colle Santa Lucia, Italy, Don immigrated to Canada in 1962. He worked for George Hinterhoeller Boats and was a dedicated member of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Thomas More churches. A 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, he volunteered extensively, including as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd. on May 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church on May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
