Mary Allannah NEWELL

Mary Allannah Newell passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on January 11, 1947, in Lancashire, UK, she lived into her 80th year. Mary moved with her family from the UK to Niagara Falls, Canada, in 1949. She earned her teaching certificate and began her career at Orchard Park Public School, where she taught generations of students. Mary was known for her dedication, sharp wit, and playful love of a good joke. She loved to travel, particularly to Australia, and was an active member of St. Andrew's United Church UCW. Mary is survived by her sisters Jean Whalley and Kathryn Newell, her niece Leslie Gerlofs, and her nephews Darren Whalley and Ryan Newell. Much loved daughter of the late Winnifred and Stanley Newell.
