Joanne Elizabeth Barless (Phillips)

Joanne Elizabeth Barless (Phillips) passed away peacefully at her home on June 13, 2026, at the age of 85. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's College of Nursing and held a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University. Joanne began her career as a nurse at Greater Niagara General Hospital and retired with the Victorian Order of Nurses. She was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Josephine, sister Linda, and infant son Brian. Joanne is survived by her husband Robert, her children Lori (David) Mason and Kyle (Nadia), her grandchildren Michael (Alisha), Christopher, and Katrina, and her siblings Carol (John d.), Nancy (Joe), Kathy (John), Bernie (Pam), Michael (Penny), Dianne (Peter), and Paul (Laura d.). The family would like to thank the many care providers, PSW's, and Nurses for the care and compassion they brought into their home, allowing her to remain in the place she loved surrounded by comfort and familiarity. A private graveside gathering will be held.
