Ilona (Juhas) BIGUS

Ilona Bigus passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at Hamilton Continuing Care Residence in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her parents, Antal and Julianna Juhas of Alsótelekes, Hungary, and by her parents-in-law, Frank and Terez Bigus of Niagara Falls, Ontario, as well as her older sister Magda in Hungary. Ilona is reunited with her husband John and her son Ernest. Survivors include her daughter Hilda (Robert) D'Alessandro, daughter‑in‑law Laurel Ratcliffe, grandchildren Eden, Frances and Paul and their families, goddaughter Rosemary (Miller) Crosby, younger sister Anna, nephew Tibor, nieces Erika, Melinda and Kato, cousin Irene (Steve) Garan, longtime family friend John (Linda) Haitos, neighbours Heather and Marie Stokes, Fred Wheeler, Enzo, Antonio and Isabella DiCola, and dear friend Ann Ferrigan. She was also survived by her great‑grandchildren. The family thanks Dr. Patrick Pang of Niagara Falls, Dr. Tammy Hainer of Tillsonburg, and Dr. Chidinma Okorie of Hamilton for their care, and the staff, nurses and personal support workers at Hamilton Continuing Care Residence for their compassion during her final weeks.
