Gertrude Taylor (née Masson) SIMON

Gertrude Taylor Simon (née Masson) passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 88. She is reunited with her husband, Frank, who predeceased her in 2023, as well as her daughters Patricia, Donna, and Joanne, who predeceased her in 2025 and 2015, respectively. Gertrude is survived by her daughters Cindy and Kathy, and her sons-in-law Rick and Alex. She is also survived by her grandchildren Krista, Louis, Amanda, Suzy, Brittany, Richard, Joshua, Gino, Frank, Margaret, and Olivia, as well as her great-grandchildren Jonathan, Gavin, Violet, Brock, Kathlynn, Xander, Ayla, Holden, and Ocktavia. Gertrude is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Born in Montrose, Scotland, Gertrude came to Canada at the age of 14 and worked as a Bell Telephone Operator. She met and married Frank shortly after arriving in Canada and they were married for 67 years. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, staff, and volunteers at Chippawa Creek at Bella Care Residence. Friends are invited to visit at Patterson Funeral Home in Niagara Falls on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. and interment at Lundy's Lane Cemetery.
