Elizabeth "Betty" Hennessy

Elizabeth 'Betty' Hennessy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on December 30, 1932, in Dundee, Scotland, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Hennessy, who predeceased her on April 22, 2023. Betty is survived by her loving children, Lorraine Clocherty and her husband Rob, and Graeme Hennessy and his partner Meg Mulligan, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Nicole Serra, Janine Sedgwick, and Jaclyn Serra, and her proud great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Hailey. A resident of Niagara Falls, Betty had a fulfilling life, marked by her experiences as a championship ballroom dancer, lawn bowler, and Scottish country dancer. She also spent 26 winters in Florida with her late husband after retiring from John Coutts Library Services. Family and friends are invited to visit Patterson Funeral Home on July 28, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church on July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery.
