Dr. Douglas Robert BLEW
Dr. Douglas Robert Blew passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2026, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of Hazel Ann (née Burwash) and a cherished father to Laura Blew (Charles Flaherty), Barbara Blew (Ronald Delanghe), and Brian Blew (Jacqueline Sandoz). Doug was a loving grandfather to Michael, Sarah, David, Jacob Flaherty, Claire Delanghe, and Adele, Malcolm, and Stella Blew. He is remembered fondly by his sisters-in-law, Bev Blew, Brenda Blew, and Joan Lowry, and brothers-in-law, Jack Scoffield and Randall Lowry, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and former patients. Predeceased by his parents, Earnest Roscoe Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (née Smeaton) Blew, and siblings Ross Blew, Andy Blew, and Mary Scoffield, Doug was born and raised in Niagara Falls. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1965 and dedicated over forty years to family medicine in his community. Doug was an avid skier and a member of the HoliMont Ski Club for five decades. He and Hazel Ann enjoyed extensive travels together throughout their 61 years of marriage.
