Age 72
Newmarket, Ontario
Thompson Funeral Home

Margaret Jean Harrison, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket. She was the much loved eldest daughter of Dollina, who died in 2011, and Don, who died in 2021. Margaret leaves behind her beloved son, Aaron, and devoted daughter-in-law, Nicole. She was a cherished grandma to Abigail and Johnathan, who were her greatest joy. She will be sadly missed by her siblings Craig, Leslie, and her husband David, Sylvia, and her husband Doug, who died in 2014, Donald, and David, all of whom loved her dearly; as well as her sister-in-law, Vi, and her aunt, Jean. Margaret will also be fondly remembered by her adoring nieces and nephews, their children, and the friends she met and cherished along her life's path. Margaret was a florist by trade and truly an artist with stems, bringing care and creativity to every arrangement. She had a dry sense of humour, enjoyed crocheting in her downtime, and was a devoted fan of Coronation Street. From her childhood through to raising her own family, cottage life on Balsam Lake was a cherished constant, and in more recent years she treasured time spent camping with her family throughout southern Ontario. Visitation will take place at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at the Aurora Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully welcomes donations to Southlake Regional Health Centre in Margaret's memory.
