LAWRENCE (LARRY) POLIDANO

Lawrence (Larry) Polidano passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 90. He was surrounded by his loving family at the Renoir Retirement Residence in Newmarket, Ontario. Larry was the devoted and loving husband of Orade (née Attard) for 68 years. He was a beloved father to Frances (Beth) and a proud grandfather to Jasmine (Liam) and Melanie (Julian). Still in Malta are Larry's brothers Joseph (Theresa) and Angelo (deceased Elizabeth Ann). He was predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Francesca, and his sister, Maria Anna (Lawrence). Born in Malta, Larry apprenticed in the dockyards of Valletta beginning in 1955. In 1957, he immigrated to Canada with his two best friends. Shortly after arriving, Larry joined the Royal Canadian Navy, where he proudly served for over 35 years. During his career, he sailed on many ships, including the HMCS Loon and the HMCS Bonaventure. Following his retirement, Larry and Orade enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends. A visitation will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home at 157 Main Street S., Newmarket on Friday, February 13th, beginning at 3:30. The funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m., with a reception at the funeral home immediately following.
