Joseph Coates

Joseph Coates of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Coates and Dorothy Coates, his brother Harold, his sister-in-law Margaret Coates, and Dorothy Coates. Joseph is survived by his sisters, Olive and her husband Bruce Andrews, and Vera and her husband Bruce Longfield, his wife Ethel Coates, his brother Cecil Coates, his children, Kathy Tufts and her husband Al, Brenda Thompson and her husband Steve, Glen Coates and his wife Linda, Douglas Coates and his wife Donna, and Daniel Coates, his foster daughter Gayle Tite and her husband Larry, his daughter-in-law Desiree Coates, and his grandchildren, Jeremy Tufts and his wife Emily, Jordan Coates and his wife Ophra, Kahlan Bruce and her husband Kyle, Amanda Whelan and her husband Rob, Andrea Rozendaal and her husband Marien, Nicole Coates, Emma Coates and her husband Reece, Emily Stamatakis and her husband Niko, Hannah Verdonk and her husband Nate, Josh Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Georgia Coates, Levi Coates, Kim, Philip, Karen, Andrew, and Amanda Tite. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Holt Free Methodist Church or the Pine Orchard Camp.
