Elisa Salerno

The family of Elisa Salerno announces her passing on October 15, 2026. Born on August 19, 1930, in Newmarket, Ontario, Elisa is remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was predeceased by her husband, Onido Salerno, as well as her parents, Giovanni DeFino and Concetta DeFino. Elisa is survived by her children, Mary (James), Teresa, Eugene (Anna), and Connie (Jeromy); her grandchildren, Jamie, Katie, Chris, Alicia, Armand, Jennifer, and Josh; and her great-grandchildren, Zoey and Freyja. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, located at 211 Langstaff Rd E, Thornhill, ON L3T3Z6. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in memory of Elisa.
