CHARLES "CHARLIE" ANTHONY SCHRIER

Charles 'Charlie' Anthony Schrier passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 90, at Newmarket Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. Born in Toronto on August 11, 1935, to Lucy and Sydney Schrier, Charlie was the beloved husband of Camille, whom he met on a blind date and shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with. He was a loving father to Arlette and Jillian, and a proud father-in-law to Dan Purdham. Charlie was a cherished 'Pa' to his grandchildren, Jessica Smith and Spencer Purdham, and to his great-granddaughter, Isabella. Charlie had a long and proud career with the Toronto Fire Department, retiring as Captain in 1990. He fulfilled his dream of owning a hobby farm and enjoyed rural life with Camille and their daughters. In retirement, Charlie and Camille travelled widely. Charlie was predeceased by his father and brother. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church in Newmarket, Ontario on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
