28 May Margret “Evelyn” Dewar

Margret 'Evelyn' Dewar died peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the age of 88, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Born in Toronto on February 20, 1938, Evelyn was the daughter of Dr. William F. Dewar and Margaret Shaver (née West). She is survived by her children, Douglas Shirriff (Karen) and Elizabeth 'Libby' Shirriff, and her grandchildren, Danielle and Katherine. Evelyn is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Birtch (Ralph) and Penelope Booth (Geof), as well as her niece, Karen Gold, and nephew, Stephen Longstaffe. Private family arrangements have been made. Evelyn will be reunited with her cherished cat, Tink.
