DOROTHY "DOT" MATHIESON

Dorothy 'Dot' Mathieson passed peacefully at home in her sleep on May 7, 2026, at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Allan 'Al' Mathieson (2013), and her friend, Bob Stewart. Dot will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Kerry (Margaret) and Jody (Emma); her grandchildren, Jamie (Nicola), Shaun (Holly), Curt (Christina), Kellie, and Marisha (Jake); and her great-grandchildren, Rory, Charlotte, Khyden, and Lillie. She also had a special place in her heart for her dear neighbours and extended family, including Michelle, Mark, Isaiah, and Noah. Dot was known for caring for others, including family members, friends, cats, dogs, birds, and squirrels. She dedicated her time to volunteering with the Kidney Foundation, Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Salvation Army. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Newcastle Funeral Home for visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. A service will take place at 11:30 in the chapel, followed by a reception. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation if desired.
