Pastor Amsey W. Martin

Pastor Amsey W. Martin passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 4, 1929, in Peel Township, he was the son of the late Enoch F. and Elizabeth Martin. Amsey was the devoted husband of Leona Martin for 72 years and a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children Sharon, Carolyn, Steve, and Sheldon, as well as his brother-in-law Frank Martin, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter Shirley, son-in-law David Heyer, and several siblings. Amsey dedicated over 50 years to serving as an ordained pastor in the Mennonite community, marked by compassion and a desire to serve others. He is lovingly remembered by his family and community.
