THOMAS SAUNDERS RANSOM
Thomas Saunders Ransom passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children, Beverley, Cathy, Tom, and Tim, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine, and their eldest son, John. Born in Toronto in 1931, Tom met his future wife, Geraldine O'Donoghue, at Jarvis Collegiate Institute, and they married in 1956. He worked as a professional land surveyor before pursuing a career in education, becoming a Professor of Civil Technology at Centennial College in Scarborough from 1967 to 1997. Tom had a lifelong passion for magic and puzzles, and was a founding member and secretary of the Society of Canadian Magicians in Toronto. He also contributed to numerous magic magazines and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
