SHIRLEY DORIS SALTER

Shirley Doris Salter (née Chalk), born in 1934, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Claire (Scott), Andrew (Laura), and Michael; her grandchildren, Owen, Emma, and Hailey; her former husband, David; and daughter-in-law, Madeleine. Shirley was predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Eileen. After immigrating to Canada in 1960, she lived in Montreal, Ottawa, and finally settled in Mississauga. A devoted mother and grandmother, she created a welcoming home for her children and their friends. Shirley enjoyed games and puzzles, and her warm nature fostered friendships throughout her life. A memorial gathering will take place at Walden Circle Retirement Residence, Mississauga, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Walden Circle and Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care.
