ROY NAKAGAWA
Roy Nakagawa passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 98. He was predeceased by his parents, Seiroku and Kikuko Nakagawa, his wife Anne, and his sister Hannah. Roy is lovingly remembered by his children, Ron, Jane, and Karen, his grandchildren, Evan and Peter, his great-granddaughter, Isabella, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Ocean Falls, British Columbia, Roy grew up in a pulp and paper mill company town, where he developed fond childhood memories. His family was forcibly interned during World War II, and they eventually settled in Regina, where Roy graduated from high school. He went on to earn a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and worked on the Avro Arrow project in Toronto. Roy married his wife Anne in 1957 and enjoyed taking his family on camping and fishing trips across Canada. He finished his career at Atomic Energy Canada and spent his retirement travelling, golfing, and volunteering at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date, and the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre or a charity of choice.
