ROMAN MICHAEL GORLEWSKI
Roman Michael Gorlewski passed away on August 15, 2026, at Southlake Health Centre after a brief illness. He was born on November 3, 1950, to Wladyslaw and Lucja Gorlewski, who immigrated to Canada after the war. Raised in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood with his older brother Ted, Roman enjoyed Polish Sea Scout camps at Barry's Bay and family cottage visits, maintaining lifelong friendships from school, camp, and Cawaja Beach, known affectionately as the "Polish Posse." He served Canada Post for 38 years. In 1986 he married Cindy Campbell; they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in early August. Their children are Alexander, Felix and Keelin. Roman and Cindy also cared for four dogs—Farley, Maizie, Archie and Billie. He lived in several communities, including Aurora, Newmarket and Sutton West, and was known for his friendly conversations. Survivors include his wife Cindy, children Alexander, Felix and Keelin, brother Ted, and Cindy's sisters Laurie (Brian) and Sue (Paul), as well as nieces and nephews. Arrangements are with Roadhouse & Rose in Newmarket, with a Celebration of Life to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to a local dog rescue or animal shelter are requested.
