Robert John "Bob" Hillier, born on November 12, 1948, in Toronto, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Regina General Hospital. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Denby (John), his brother, Iain Hillier (Dianne), and his cherished nieces and nephews: Kristin, Dave, Mike, Katie, Meaghan, Blake, and Matthew, along with nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Known for his quiet intellect and dry sense of humour, Bob was an Ontario Scholar and an accomplished alpine ski racer until a serious accident at 17 altered his path. He later discovered Buddhism while studying at Simon Fraser University and traveled extensively, including a rare visit to Tibet. Bob became a respected Saskatchewan Land Surveyor, known for his integrity and beautiful penmanship. He received the Jack Webb Award in June 2024 for his contributions to the SLSA. Bob married Laura May in Bermuda in 1984 and later made Eastend his home, enjoying winters in Cuba and Mexico, where he became fluent in Spanish.
