MICHAEL KUPCHANKO

Michael Kupchanko passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on July 11, 1932, in Toronto, he was predeceased by his parents, Dora and George, his brother, John, his sister, Jennie, and his beloved wife, Ann, to whom he was married for 59 years. He is survived by his daughter, Katharine, and her husband, John. Michael had a successful career in the electrical trades, including working on the D.E.W. line in northern Canada. He later transitioned into teaching, spending over 35 years at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate, Keiller Mackay Collegiate, and Lakeshore Collegiate, where he was a champion of technical courses and won the Teacher of the Year award in 1980. A private cremation took place, and memorial donations may be made in his honour.
