MARY JOAN "JO" WARING

Mary Joan 'Jo' Waring (née Ptolemy) passed away peacefully on the morning of May 4, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Toronto on April 16, 1937, to Bertha (Eccie) Eccleston and William Hector Ptolemy, Jo spent her early years in Toronto before moving to Listowel, Ontario, where she met her husband, Harvey Howes Waring. They were married on August 2, 1958. Jo was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harvey, and Angelo Ghicas, her son's spouse. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: John Waring, Keeley Carl (Joe), and Melanie Waring-Chapman (Bill), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Alex, and Kate. A Celebration of Jo's life will be held on Saturday, June 27th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario.
