MARY CATHERINE "CATHY" WALSH

Mary Catherine "Cathy" Walsh, born January 10, 1930, died peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Dorothy Ley Hospice, surrounded by family. She was 96 years old. Cathy was a devoted Catholic, a former nurse, and an avid pianist and singer who enjoyed long walks, swimming, skating, and conversation about world events. She is survived by her children Philip (Patti), Colleen (the late Dr. Steven Senior) Helen (Ken Chalmers), Joannie (the late Keith Robinson), Anne (David Rieger) and Sheila (Greg MacDonald), along with numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Peter James Walsh, grandsons Deryck Walsh and Taylor Senior, and great‑granddaughter Lilly Steeneveld. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Toronto, on Monday, August 24, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Gregory's Parish in Etobicoke on Tuesday.
