MARILYN SHANOFF

Marilyn Joyce Shanoff (nee Huggins), born on October 31, 1943, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, due to injuries sustained from a fall. She was surrounded by her family at Grand River Hospital in Waterloo, Ontario, listening to her favorite Elvis songs. Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late David L. Shanoff and a devoted mother to Jodi Shanoff (Mike Zavershnik) and Tanya Shanoff (Sam Charles). She cherished her role as a grandmother to Sophie, Justin, Penny, and Teddy. A dedicated educator, Marilyn served as a principal and vice principal in Ontario's public school system, known for her authority, wisdom, and humor. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Marie Wilson and Brenda Range. Marilyn will be interred in her family plot in Sarnia, Ontario, later this fall. Arrangements are entrusted to Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society are appreciated.
