JOHN "HILLSY" W. HILLS

John William Hills, affectionately known as 'Hillsy', passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 24, 1939, in a private hospital on Danforth Avenue, Toronto, to William Benjamin and Alice Lillian Hills, John was the youngest of four children, with sisters Joyce, Phyllis, and Velma, who predeceased him. He worked for the City of Toronto's Parks and Recreation department for over 25 years, retiring in 1998. John was the loving husband of the late Lillian Diane Hills and a proud father and father-in-law of Pamela, Christopher, and Benjamin. He will be warmly remembered as Grandpa John to Zara, Hayden, Grace, Ivy, Brent, and Summer, and as Great-Grandpa John to Isabella, Angelo, and Emilia. John is also survived by his in-laws, nieces, and nephews, and will be missed by his friends at Deer Lake and his pal, Max. A Celebration of Life and interment will be held at a later date, with condolences available at www.aftercare.org.
