JEFFERSON EDWARD HOWARD MAPPIN
Jefferson Edward Howard Mappin was born on February 15, 1955, in Montreal and died peacefully on August 3, 2026, at the age of 71. He was the second of five children of the late John Mappin (d. 2008) and Judy Mappin (née Taylor) and older brother to the late Hugh Mappin (d. 1996). Jefferson pursued a career as a professional performer for more than 35 years, appearing in over 125 film and television productions from the 1970s through the 2000s, including a supporting role in the Academy Award‑winning film Unforgiven. He began acting in high school, participated in every variety show and stage play, and trained with the Dome Theatre program at Dawson College in Montreal, where he formed lasting friendships. Known affectionately as “Mr. Uncle Jefferson Sir” to friends and family, he was celebrated for his generosity, humor, and willingness to help others. He cherished family gatherings at home or cottage and was proud of his Canadian heritage.
