GEORGE SHOJI TOYAMA

George Shoji Toyama passed away peacefully at Shepherd Lodge on August 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on April 8, 1931, in Vancouver, BC, to Maka and Shomatsu, George is survived by his brothers Roy and Bobby, sisters-in-law Kathy and Irma, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Fumi and Joan, and brothers Seitoku, Toki, Masao, Joe, and Mits. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Highland Funeral Home in Scarborough on September 27 from 1-3 p.m. The family extends gratitude to George's personal caregivers and the staff of Shepherd Lodge for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shepherd Village or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
