FRANK ROBERT MURPHY

Frank Robert Murphy, known as Bob, was born on October 8, 1937 and passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Sheryl Anne Buron Murphy, his sons Robert M. Murphy Jr. and Kevin Patrick Murphy, and his sister Dianne Murphy Orr. He was also stepfather to Cindy Corsetti Nagy, Greg Nagy and Paul Corsetti. Predeceased were his daughters Teresa Wright (2023) and Cathy Ann Murphy (1971), as well as his first wife Marianne Thibault (2005). Bob was a grandfather to Robert Murphy, Amanda Murphy, William Murphy, Katelynn and Zoe Thompson-Hawkins, Robert Hawkins, and Mackenzie Wright, and a great‑grandfather to nine great‑grandchildren. After a career in marine insurance, he pursued family‑history research and received numerous volunteer service awards from the Ontario Genealogical Society. He was active in the Boy Scouts of Canada in the Toronto region, following in the footsteps of his father, Thomas Joseph Murphy, who also received scouting service awards. His grandfather, Thomas A. Murphy, served as an Ontario MPP from 1916 to 1948 and helped secure funding for the Toronto East General Hospital.
