Bruce Alfred ROGERS

Bruce Alfred Rogers, born in Toronto on August 14, 1933, died suddenly on July 20, 2026, at Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert, Alberta, at the age of 92. He was a graduate of Radio and Television Arts and Journalism from Ryerson Polytechnic (now Toronto Metropolitan University) and enjoyed a distinguished broadcasting career spanning more than 35 years with the CBC, TVOntario, CFRB Toronto and other outlets. His roles included host, producer, writer and anchor on programs such as The World at Six, TVO Money$worth, Prime Time News and Radio Noon, and he earned seven ACTRA nominations. Rogers was also active as a writer, interviewer, instructor, author, musician, cartoonist, pilot, canoeist, birder, winemaker, woodcarver, farmer, curler and lawn bowler. He is survived by his wife Diana, daughters Kathryn (married to Dai Evans) and Vanessa (married to Patrick Collins), their children Patrick Jr., Danielle, Sebastian (married to Rose), Seamus (married to Sophia), step‑son John Baillie and his daughter Samantha, brother Doug, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia, brother Ross and Ross’s wife Nancy, and his parents Harry and Eileen. His ashes will be scattered in Ontario following a private family service in Beaverton, Ontario.
