BARRIE JAMES WELCH

Barrie James Welch, born on May 8, 1936, in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 90, in Picton, Ontario. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, and their children, Richard, Steven, and Laurie, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandson, nephew, niece, and extended family. Barrie was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Lily, and his sisters, Sonia and Yvonne. He spent his early life in Durban, South Africa, where he trained as a carpenter, a skill he utilized throughout his life. Barrie had a distinguished career, working as a firefighter for the Westmount Fire Department, and later holding various positions at C.P. Rail, Improved Risk Mutual, and American International Groups. Arrangements are being handled by Burke Funeral Home.
