BARBARA FRANCIS COONEY

Barbara Francis Cooney (nee Thompson), born on September 5, 1944, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to Gerry Cooney, who predeceased her in 2011, and a loving mother to Martin and Justin, along with daughter-in-law Lori Anne. Barbara was a proud grandmother to Jeremy, Jessica, Elissa, Lauren, and Liam. She cherished her siblings Anne, Rosemary, Gerry, and Pauline, and was predeceased by her siblings Greg and Theresa. A respected leader in healthcare, Barbara was known for her intelligence and compassion. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, and kayaking, embracing adventure and the beauty of nature. Her legacy of leadership, generosity, and love will continue through her family and the many lives she influenced.
