Urban William STEFFLER
Urban William Steffler passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Bridgeview Hall in Miramichi, New Brunswick, at the age of 96. Born on January 10, 1930, in St. Agatha, Urban was the youngest of seven children. He is now reunited with his wife Kathleen (May), with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. Urban worked at Imperial Tobacco for 25 years and enjoyed his family cottage in Wasaga Beach, as well as traveling to various destinations including Hawaii, Venezuela, Barbados, Italy, and Florida. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and bowler. Urban is survived by his children Deborah Eames (Ron), Denise Popowich (Dave), and Darlene Hackett (Tom), as well as his grandchildren Nicole DelCul (Alex), Robyn Gilbey (Keith), Mike Eames (Carolyn), Bryan Popowich (Vanessa), Andrew Popowich (Amanda), Sophie Lorette (Ryan), Sarah Hackett (Dan), Jason Bomans (Paulina), Jordon Bomans (Katherine), and Janelle Bomans (Oliver), and his great-grandchildren Stella, Adalynn, Jackson, Kinsley, Harper, Cole Ashton, Addison, Luke B, Victoria, Luke P, Charlotte, Luke L, Emma, and Caden. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Helen May (Laura) and Anne Steffler. Urban was predeceased by his parents Enoch Steffler and Matilda Dietrich, sisters Kay Yastremski, Clara Scheffner, Loreen Freiburger, and Loretta Schnarr, brothers Gordon Steffler and Bob Steffler, sisters-in-law Margaret Rebellati and Shirley, and brothers-in-law Frank Rebellati and Ken May. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Hackett family in Miramichi, New Brunswick, for their love and support, as well as the Bridgeview staff for the care they provided to Urban during his time there. A funeral mass will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home.
