Victoria 'Tori' Margaret Skot passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 35. Tori is survived by her parents, Vic and Janice (nee O'Brien); and siblings, Tessa, Alanna, and Bryce; her Aunt Barb; and cousin, Heather Empey of Sudbury; Aunt Paulette (nee O'Brien); and Uncle Cecil Burton of Sudbury; honourary grandmother, Carolyn Murray of Sudbury. She was predeceased by grandparents, Viktor and Anna Skot of Sudbury; and grandmother, Terry O'Brien (nee McColgan) of Sudbury. Tori was born in Sudbury and spent her formative years at Montessori School, St. Theresa's elementary, and Marymount Academy. She played AA hockey with the Sudbury Wolves, and soccer on both the Canadians and Panhellenic teams. After her family moved to Barrie, Tori attended Eastview High School and played AA hockey with the Barrie Sharks. Tori graduated from Sir Wilfred Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree and from Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law with a Juris Doctor (JD). She began her career at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto, under the leadership of Brian Facey in the Competition, Antitrust, and Foreign Investment group, and then moved back to Barrie, to join Barriston LLP, under the leadership of Lisa Roszell. Tori found joy in life through travel, remarkable food, both cooking it herself and discovering it around the world, and most of all in the time and memories she shared with family and friends at her favourite place, the Skottage near Parry Sound.
