Salvatore Gentile

Salvatore Gentile peacefully passed away at Juravinski Hospital on May 24, 2026, in his 88th year, at the age of 87. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Maria, who passed away on July 26, 2015. Salvatore was the beloved father of Sam Gentile and his wife Josie, and Carmela Faure and her husband Philippe. He was the loving Nonno of Sam Jr., Laura, Nicholas, and Luke. Salvatore was the dear son of the late Salvatore and Carmela Gentile, and son-in-law of the late Alfonzo and Salvatrice Puzzo. He was the beloved brother and brother-in-law of the late Calogera and Alfonso Bruno, the late Giuseppe Gentile and his wife Maria of Germany, and the late John Puzzo, Bill Puzzo and his wife Sandy, and Charlie Puzzo and his wife Fernanda. Salvatore will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. He was a dedicated employee for the City of Hamilton for 30 years and a devoted family man. The family wishes to thank Villa Italia Retirement Home for their excellent care and the staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27th from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 28th at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
