Richard Miles (Rick)

Richard Miles (Rick) was born on August 17, 1951, and passed away on April 30, 2022, at the age of 70. He grew up in an era of limited accessibility but never let his lifelong disability limit his success. Rick had a distinguished career, beginning as a Policy Analyst with the Ontario Ministry of Community & Social Services, then becoming National Development Officer for the Coalition of Provincial Organizations of the Handicapped, and later holding leadership roles with the Federal Secretariat for Disabled Persons and the Handicapped Action Group of Thunder Bay. In 1992, he was appointed a Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Throughout his career, Rick displayed a unique ability to overcome physical challenges and often laugh at them. Arrangements are being handled by MA Clarke & Sons in Hamilton, Ontario.
