Gordon (Gord) LaVIOLETTE

Gordon (Gord) LaViolette passed away on April 16, 2026, in his 77th year, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 57 years, Bonnie, his daughter Tammy Agro (Tom), and his son Tim LaViolette (Jenny). Gord was a cherished Papa to Alexandra, Hayley, Rachel, and Jake. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings Jackie (Ted), Maria (Bob), and Gerard. Born on December 25, 1948, Gord was the son of the late Audie and Loretta LaViolette. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Austin, Evelyn, Irene, and Maurice, as well as many nieces and nephews. Gord was a dedicated employee at Dofasco for 32 years before retiring in 2004. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hamilton General Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness. Family and friends are welcome to visit at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Sunday, April 19, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence Church on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gord's memory may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton.
